She Gets It

A friend sent us a link to Negar Sedghi's blog - Live, Love Laugh. She wrote a summary of our book that is really insightful - she gets it. Negar sees the "false front" that the "American Dream" presents. Accumulating debt may allow you to buy things you want now, but if debt accumulation continues, life becomes based on a false economy. And eventually (and 2009 is eventually for lots of people) debt turns around and demands to be paid back. That's when the reality of the true cost of debt is revealed.

    Greetings Annette and Steve,

I checked out your book from the library and just finished it. This book excited me. You paid off your house in 9 years. I am a single mother who just happens to be a Soldier in the US Army. I have been reassigned to another post and am about to purchase my first home. I don't know if I could pay it off in 9 years, but I sure am going to try. For the last two weeks, I've been clipping coupons and making a dinner menu. I saved $25 last week in the commissary by using the coupons. I was so excited, I told my Colonel about it during PT. I started talking to my sons about money and the choices they can make when saving and buying the things they want. Your book has really inspired me. I became debt free last year, prior to reading your book, but you have given me encouragement to keep going. Alot of people think that I am cheap because I only order water at a resturant. Thank you.

Some churches have what is called Angel Food. People who need to can purchase $50.00 worth of food for $25.00 for themselves or have it donated.

It looks like she changed the access to her blog.

      Unfortunately we can't help.
