		<content type="html">Since you pay interest on the principal amount that you owe on your loan, getting the original amount down will mean there is less interest as the months and years go by. This can lead to big savings. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I also agree with the answer you were given. Save your 401k. When you retire, you'll really appreciate that you hung onto it.</content>
